On July 11, 2011, the National Democratic Institute in Lebanon and the Parliament of Lebanon hosted the first Public Policy Forum at the Parliamentary Library. The Forum provided an opportunity for over 70 members of civil society, politicians, and parliamentary staff to discuss and debate ways to enhance public participation in policy-making. Panelists: Michel Moussa: member of parliament, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, and former Miinister. Atef Majdalani: member of parliament, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Health, Labor on Social Affairs Ziad Abdel Samad: Executive Director of the Arab NGO Network for Development Sylvana Lakkis: Programs Director, Lebanese Physically Handicapped Union Language: Arabic في 11 تموز 2011، استضاف المعهد الديمقراطي الوطني ومجلس النواب اللبناني المنتدى الأول للسياسات العامة. وقد وفّر المنتدى فرصةً لأكثر من 70 مشاركاً، منهم أعضاء في المجتمع المدني ورجال سياسة وموظّفون في مجلس النواب، للتعمّق في الأساليب المناسبة لتحسين المشاركة العامة في عملية صنع السياسات. أما المشاركون في طاولة الحوار، فكانوا النائب ميشال موسى، النائب عاطف مجدلاني، السيد زياد عبد الصمد والسيدة سيلفانا اللقيس.
