Unlike what most Lebanese people think

The common perception in Lebanon that everybody knows the alpha started here is totally incorrect. Interviewing Europeans, asking them whether or not they know where the first alphabet came from or even if they know where the name Europe came from. The results: 4 out of 214 recorded interviews knew that the Alpha-Bet came from Lebanon. Only 8 knew where the name Europe (The Phoenician Princess Europa of Tyr) came from.
